The League will be organized in divisions.  Each bracket will play a complete internal round-robin.  There will be one top level bracket (Kings), two Level 2 brackets (Lords) , four Level 3 brackets (Peasants), and as many Level 4 brackets (Serfs) as are necessary.  The target size per division will be 12 players.  Entry may be limited if necessary for an appropriate movement.

Each League session runs from the 1st to the second last day of each month.  All match results are due on or before the second last day of the month.  Late postings may be accepted if prior agreement has been reached with the host.  Our target date is to post brackets by the 1st, but this date is not guaranteed.

The two highest-ranked players in each subdivision will move up. The number of players moving down is set equal to the number of players moving up. If the number of players in a division exceeds 12 an extra player is demoted for each additional place. If there are available places in higher divisions due to non-returning players they will be filled by the highest rank players in the division below who have not been automatically promoted.

Bracket assignments within a level will be assigned at random.

Entry

To register you must have a valid Warp Gammon name. New players can sign up here. Registration is then via the signup link for Quantum Leap on MyPage

You are expected to complete all of your matches. If you do not play all your matches, you may be excluded from future web-based WarpGammon Tournaments.

Unless specifically stated otherwise elsewhere in WarpGammon Tournament's rules, you may enter the tournament using only one player name.  If you enter more than once, you may be disqualified from the WarpGammon Tournament.

Late signups will remain open for about a week, but may close earlier if brackets are full.

Players must enter each month.  Signups will close at midnight Pacific Time on the last day of the month.    It is the player's responsibility to sign up before signups close. Late entries can only be assigned to the players entitled level if space is available.

Vacation Rule Players wishing to take time off may do so and re-enter up within the next 12 months and be placed in the division they would have been had they continued.  It is the player's responsibility to notify the host when they are returning by placing a comment in the signup form,
Scoring Forfeits for the purpose of determing division winners and promotions will be allocated as follows:

A win will have a value of 1
A forfeit win will have a value of 0.6

A played loss will be worth 0.3
A forfeit loss will be worth 0.
Tie Breaking Ranks will be based on scores obtained.  Ties will be broken as follows:
1. Head to head among tied players
2. If some players remain tied, head to head among those players.
3. Second level tie breaking.
4. Third level tie breaking.

If the Kings bracket champion is not broken by #1-3, a playoff will be held.

Match Lengths
Kings 13 points
Lords 11 points
Peasants, Serfs 9 points
Scheduling
your Matches
Please ensure that your normal scheduling times are in your profile, as well as the servers you play on. This is an invaluable aid to scheduling.

Online link up with players is encouraged but if you have not been able to play a match by the middle of the month then you should start a scheduling correspondence to arrange a time and location.

If you have sent 2 emails to your opponent without response then it is considered that you have done enough. Contact the host if you feel you need extra assistance in arranging a match.

Forfeits Players do not need to apply for forfeits, they will be granted automatically at month's end based upon scheduling emails. Emails sent in the last 2 days will be ignored unless they are part of a continuing communication between players. You cannot expect a forfeit win if your first email is sent less than 2 days from the end of play regardless of whether your opponent has scheduled or not.

Players who have made insufficient effort to play all their matches may be refused entry to the next month's event.

Players are subject to penalties for failing to complete or attempt to complete matches. In general, players who receive forfeit losses on more than half their matches will be prohibited from play in the following month.  Penalty points are cumulative and will be removed at the rate of 25% per month.  For a complete explanation of penalty points follow this link.

The tournament host may, where a situation presents itself, modify or depart from the published rules to resolve situations that may compromise the integrity of the event.
